May 1 Pastel
Workshop with Eve Kenyon
will
be held at the MuseRoom Thursday May 1. The one-day workshop’s goal is for every
participant to paint a complete pastel landscape ‘from the ground up’. Eve
provides individual instruction, demonstrations and take-home reference
materials. All levels are welcome. The one-day Pastel Workshop will take place
Thursday May 1st from 9:30am-3pm at the MuseRoom, 4136 SE Hawthorne Blvd,
Portland. Participants will supply required materials from list which will be
sent to registrants (Note: MuseArt+Design offers workshop members 15% discount
for items included on materials list and 10% discount on all other items). The
workshop fee of $115 is due by Monday April 21. Checks should be payable to Eve
Kenyon’s Art Dept. and mailed to 4285 SW 96th Avenue / Beaverton, OR 97005.

Maggie Price will teach a 5-day workshop in
Puyallup, Washington, July 14-18, 2008. The workshop
will be mostly plein air, and will focus on painting the
landscape in pastel. Maggie Price is a member of the
Northwest Pastel Society, and Signature Member of the
Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of New Mexico
and Plein Air New Mexico. She was a co-founder and
editor of The Pastel Journal magazine, and is the
author of Painting in Pastel: Easy Techniques to
Master the Medium (North Light Books, 2007). Tuition

Center for Wooden Boats Pastel Workshop
with Steve Hill, September 22-25, 2008
Join former NPS president, Steve Hill, for a 4 day workshop
at The Center for Wooden Boats, on Lake Union in Seattle. Steve is returning to
the CWB to teach an intensive workshop painting boats, light, water reflections
and the lively color around the docks. Steve will do live demos daily (both
plein air and from reference photos) and will provide lots of positive feedback
at your easel throughout the workshop. You will leave this workshop very
motivated and with a clear understanding of how to use pastels to create better
paintings.
Students will need a basic hard and soft pastel set,
stand-alone easel, pastel papers and backing boards. A suggested list of
supplies will be emailed to all students by August 15th or you can
purchase a basic discounted pastel starter set, including papers, backing
boards, view finders, etc., for @ $190 through Steve/Dakota Pastels.

variety of pastels and pastel papers. Students will begin 3 to 4 small
paintings in this all day class 9:30am to 4:00 pm with 3 to 4 students per
