Mary McInnis
"Lena Lake Trail"

Mary J McInnis had five paintings accepted into the Western Washington State Fair Juried Art Show and won four awards - Honorable Mention and 2nd Place in Oils, Honorable Mention in Drawing, and 3rd Place in the special exhibit, "The World of Pastels". Also, she will be at the Fair on Thursday 23 September demonstrating her pastel technique at the Art Show. Please stop by and say hi!

Barbara Benedetti Newton's painting in the Great Lakes Pastel Society's 2010 National Show in Midland, Michigan, received the Terry Ludwig Pastels Award, Judge, Richard McKinley. Barbara's painting in the 2010 Northeast National Pastel Exhibition in Old Forge, New York, received the Kelly Weal Memorial Award, Judge, Susan Ogilvie. Barbara received an Honorable Mention Award from judge Maggie Price in the IAPS 16th Juried Exhibition in Youngstown, Ohio. Jurors for selection were Alan Flattmann, Liz Haywood-Sullivan and Jimmy Wright.

Christine Knowles,
"Stern's Orchard"

Christine Knowles' Painting "Stern's Orchard" from the NWPS September 2009 Hood River Paint Out was juried into the Art and Agriculture show at the Columbia Art Gallery in Hood River in May, 2010. Christine was also one of the featured artists at the April "Three Gorge Artists; at Home and Away" show at the Dalles Art Center in The Dalles, Oregon.

Annette Hanna is included in "The Best of America Artists, Vol. II", and recently won a $1,000 merit award in the Richeson 75 Pastel Online and gallery exhibition.

Janet Hamilton was selected to paint the poster for the 2010 “Fresh Paint” Art Festival (held at the Marina in Everett, WA - Aug 21-22, 2010). Her work was recently published in 2 books: Best of America Pastel, Volume ll and Best of Worldwide Artists Working in Charcoal, Pastel and Pencil.

Steve Hill, "Dubrovnik Promenade"

Steve Hill had a showing at Agora Gallery in New York City, with 8 other artists, in an exhibit titled "A Maze of Milieu" from July 23 August 13th. Steve and his wife, Judy, will be attending the opening reception on August 5th. Nearly all of the 8 pieces of Hill's work were painted during his recent travels in the U.S. and Europe.
